What a Fun Weekend!

Matthew was recently called as a counselor and Scout Master in the YM's and so this last weekend he headed off on a Stake overnight camp out. I knew that I would go crazy staying at home and doing nothing, but I wasn't sure how much of an adventure I would feel up to with three kids. Well, Sage's school was having a family movie night in the gym and my friend Shanie was going to take her kids (her husband was on the same camp out as Matthew), so we decided to go too. We brought our blanket and sat on the hard gym floor to watch Homeward Bound. Sage and Sydnee thought that it was so much fun! We bought some popcorn, drinks and pizza from the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) and enjoyed the movie. We had a lot of fun with our friends! On the way home we saw fireworks coming from the high school and realized that it must be homecoming. They shoot off fireworks during and after the football game. When we got home we put on our pajamas and set up our pillows on the floor of my bedroom. The window of our master bedroom looks out towards the high school so we knew that we would have a perfect view from there. We turned out the lights and just laid there eating snacks and drinking water while we waited. We ended up seeing quite a few fireworks. The girls loved it! I had to take Easton in the other room to get him to sleep and by the time I finally came back I found the girls fast asleep. They missed the grand finale of fireworks, but it was late and I'm glad that they zonked out. I put them in my bed for a mom and kid camp out and we all slept really well. I just hope that Matthew had as much fun as we did!
On Saturday morning, October 25th, Sage had a primary program practice and in the mean time Matthew got home from his camp out. Yeah! I was excited that he got home early. We had a fun day ahead of us. We were taking the kids to see High School Musical 3. They could hardly wait! Matthew and I had a great time watching the girls during the movie. Sydnee was on the edge of her seat with her eyes glued to the big screen and Sage was dancing to the music the whole time. Every now and again they would get a big grin on their faces and glance over at us and it would just melt our hearts. When we asked them what their favorite part of the movie was, they said, "the whole thing!" What a fun day for our family! After the movie ended we stayed in our seats listening to the music and before we knew it we were the last people in the theater. Sage was still dancing away and she danced all the way out of the theater. I guess that we were having our own movie theater musical. It was so much fun! I love spending time with my family and I love all of them so much!
