Cute Conversation with Easton

Mom - "Come here buddy. Let’s put your shirt on."
Easton - "Is this my basketball shirt?"
Mom - "Yes. Come here basketball John."
Easton - "I'm not John, I'm Easton." (laughing)
Mom - "Oh yeah, that's right. Do you remember my name?"
Easton - "Ummmm.......Mama Thayne.” (laughing)
Mom - "Mama Thayne, that's a good one you little teaser."

P.S. - For those of you who may not know.....Easton's middle name is Thayne.

Hanging Out and Having Fun

December 6th, 2010 - Today was our first full day at home with Tyce. It was a good day. I am so glad that Matthew was able to take time off from work to help out and to hang out with all of us. Math took the girls to school and they loved that. It is always exciting to have Dad do the things that he usually can't do because of work.

Easton loved spending time with Tyce. He always calls him "My Tycee". It's dang cute. I was in the kitchen and when I came around the corner into the living room, I found Easton laying right up next to Tyce on the couch. He doesn't like to be too far away from his baby brother. They are both such cute boys!

Math decided to work on potty training a little bit with Easton while he was at home for the week. They went out shopping and came back with some big boy underwear. Easton thought that his new unders were so cool! He was checking them out and decided that they might make a good hat. I think that he is trying to avoid the entire idea of using the potty.

We were enjoying being together as a family tonight when the doorbell rang and there was a special surprise left at the door for us. It was a book all about Christoper Pop-in-kins the elf. He is one of Santa's special helpers and the book told us all about him. When we were done reading, we headed out to look for him somewhere in our house. He was already there and hiding on our gun safe. He spent the entire month of December at our house, watching to see if we were naughty or nice. He would move around to different locations and he never disappointed at the creative places he hid or the amazing tricks he would pull off. We had a great time keeping our eye out for him, while he kept his eye on all of us. Too much fun! We had a great time together tonight and the three big kids had a great time watching their sweet baby brother have a little tummy time. I love these pictures, because it shows how mesmerized they all were with Tyce. Too sweet!

Day #3 - On Our Way Home

December 5, 2010 We were so excited to be going home today! It is always nice to be heading home to be all together as a family and also to be able to sleep in your own bed. I had fun taking pictures of Tyce while we waited to be released from the hospital. He is such a handsome baby.

Whenever I think of newborns, I cannot help but think of them all bundled up and cozy in warm blankets. Tyce was extra snuggley and sweet in his bundle of blankets. I felt bad unwrapping him to get him dressed to come home, but look at those cute legs with those big tall socks! Too cute!

I love the name tag that the nurses made for Tyce's bed, but I love the boy in the bed even more! He is a sweet and special angel baby.

Because Tyce was born in December he was given a giant Christmas stocking to come home in. I was excited about it! What a fun reminder of the best Christmas gift that we received this year, our Tyce.

I cannot get enough of this precious face! I love our baby boy so much!!

Tyce and Dad all ready to come home.

Tyce and Mom having one last snuggle before leaving the hospital together.

The kids were all excited to have their new baby brother home. They had to get in as many snuggles as possible. Easton loves being a big brother. He is very protective of Tyce and is always letting us know that he is, "My Tycee". It's pretty cute!

Sydnee is happy to have another little brother. She is a great big sister and she loves Tyce so much!

Sage can't get enough of her new little brother. She loves him so much and is already a great babysitter. She doesn't mind helping out, because that's what big sister's do.

Tyce really enjoyed his first nap at home. I can't blame him, it is a lot more relaxing than the hospital. This is the cute bear that the girls gave Tyce and the cute necklace that they gave to me. I love wearing this necklace and having all four of my sweeties with me.

Grandma Cheryl and Papa Bob got these pj's for Tyce. They were planning on giving them to him on Christmas Eve, but Grandma got nervous that they might not fit him if we waited that long, so I put them on him right away. He looked so cute and cozy in his new Christmas jammies!

I thought that we should probably take his picture by the Christmas tree. He just looked so ready for the holidays thanks to Grandma and Papa for the pj's and Aunt Jen for the new red blanket. What a great day to be able to bring our sweet baby boy home. We love him so much and we are so grateful to have him in our family. Life wouldn't be complete without him.

Day #2 - Visitors, visitors, visitors...

Tyce is such a handsome boy! We cannot get enough of him. I love snuggling him and looking at his sweet face all day. It really is kinda nice to be able to sit at the hospital and not have to worry about other responsibilities. It gives me time to enjoy my sweet angel baby.

Sage, Sydnee and Easton slept over at Papa Bob and Grandma Cheryl's house on Friday night and spent most of the day having fun with them. Papa and Grandma brought them over to see Tyce again on their way to be dropped off at Grandpa DeMar and Grandma Patty's house. The kids slept there on Saturday night and went to church with them. They loved going to their ward, because that meant they got to go to primary with Bryson and Hayden.

Just hanging out in the hospital room. The bed is always exciting to the kids because they can go for a ride on it!

Sleeping cozy in the snazzy bassinet. Tyce looked so dang cute! I couldn't resist taking his picture.

Not a great picture of mom, but doesn't Easton look so cute holding his baby brother! Easton is a great big brother already.

Papa and Grandma enjoying more snuggles with Tyce. They can't get enough of him.

Sweet, sweet baby boy! I love him so much!!

We had a lot of visitors today. The Stafford's came by to see our handsome man and hold him too. Kaitlyn was especially excited to hold him, because she didn't get to when she came yesterday. Her and Jen and to leave before she got the chance.

The Page's came by for a peek at Tyce too. The boys were excited about holding their new cousin and nephew.

We are so thankful to be blessed to have Tyce in our family.

The Raventos family came to see Tyce too. Tyce was born on Josh's birthday. Josh is happy to share his birthday with his cousin.

We had surprise visits from Uncle Kent and Aunt Trudy and also my friend Monica. I was excited to see all of them and to be able to show off our little man. I love all of our visitor's, both friends and family. We are so blessed to have people who love us and will love and care for Tyce for the rest of his life.

Tyce's First Day on Earth

We were scheduled to be induced on December 3rd at 7:00am. I was up and ready to go when the phone rang and it was the hospital. They were calling to tell me that two ladies had shown up with their water broken, so I was going to have to be bumped. I was feeling disappointed, but understood how that goes since my water had broken twice before. I began to worry that I might have to wait a long time and hoped that I wouldn't have to wait until tomorrow to get in. I didn't end up having to wait too long and they called to see if I could come in between 8:00 and 8:30am. I didn't have a problem with that. My mom came over to get the girls off to school and she took Easton home with her after that. I'm so grateful that she was able to help us out. Math and I headed off to the hospital for an exciting day. I had Math take one last picture of me pregnant. I didn't feel like I was all that big, but this picture brought me back to reality when I saw my huge old belly!

Easton came by to visit while we were sitting around waiting for Tyce to arrive. He was so cute and excited to have a new baby brother.

When I go to the hospital they started getting the monitors on and got my antibiotic started. I tested positive for Strep B again, so to be on the safe side they like to get as much antibiotic in as possible. I knew that I was in for a long day of waiting while I got a few rounds of antibiotic, but it is worth it to ensure a healthy baby. Math and I both brought books with us to read, so we were able to enjoy some quiet time while reading. We also enjoyed just being together and talking without interruption.

I finally got my epidural and when I had enough antibiotic, they broke my water. I was excited at this point, because I knew that we were truly on our way to meeting Tyce. Things went pretty fast after this. I was already progressing before my water was broken, so this just sped it up that much faster. I didn't have to push for very long. It was probably for only about 20 minutes. It was a very painless and easy delivery. I am so glad that I have an amazing and supportive husband who has always been the greatest helper and friend during all of my deliveries. He is an amazing man and I don't know what I would do without him.

When Tyce was born, Dr. Aagard was impressed by what a big boy he was. He said that he could hardly wait for the nurses to get him on the scale so that he could see how much he weighed. I figured that he might end up being my smallest baby because I actually had a TON of amniotic fluid and was thinking that maybe that was what was taking up all the space inside of me. Dr. Aagard was shocked by the amount of fluid that I had. He said that he had never delivered anyone that had as much as I did, so I wasn't sure what to think about the size of Tyce. I was guessing, in the beginning, that Tyce would be at least 8 lbs. like the other kids, but I was not expecting him to weigh 9 lbs. 14 oz!! I was shocked when they told us that was what he weighed. He was also 21 inches long. He was a big baby! Dr. Aagard and the nurses told me that I have the right to say that I had a 10 lb. baby. Pretty crazy! It's a good thing that I was induced 1 week early. Tyce was born at American Fork Hospital at 4:39pm. We were so excited to see him and hold him in our arms.

Tyce needed a little extra TLC after he was born. He wasn't reacting to life in the big world the way that they wanted him to, so they had me snuggle him a little extra before deciding if they would need to take him to the nursery to take care of him right away. They laid him on my chest, close to my heart and right up next to my skin. He seemed to respond the way that they wanted him to, so lucky for us he didn't have to be taken to the nursery right away.

Our baby boy was perfect in every way.

The kids could hardly wait to come in and see their new brother. They all thought he was so cute and tiny. I know that they will all be great helpers and take good care of their baby brother.

Some of our family members were there to meet Tyce right away. I'm glad that he is already loved by so many people.

The kids had a good time watching Tyce through the window of the nursery. They were able to see Tyce have his bath. I actually got to sit in a wheelchair and peek at my baby in the nursery too. Luckily I got into the hospital when I did this morning, because not too long after I got there Labor and Delivery got really busy with ladies having babies. It was tough for the nurses to find me a room that was ready, but I didn't mind, because this was the first time that I have gotten to see my sweet newborn being taken care of in the nursery. I didn't actually get to see him have his bath because they had a room ready for me, but luckily Math is good at taking pictures and videoing so that I can enjoy those first sweet moments of life.

I always just expect our babies to have hair and I absolutely love that they do. It is just so cute! Tyce got all cleaned up and looked even more handsome when they came to find me in our room.

Cute, clean baby boy! Look at those tiny feet and big boy hands. I just can't get enough.

I am always overcome with emotion when I see my baby for the first time. As soon as the doctor holds them up and lays them on my chest the tears begin to flow. It is such a special experience and one that will never be forgotten by me. Math and I are so happy to have Tyce in our family. We are so grateful that he is healthy and doing well. What a blessing it is to have 4 healthy and beautiful children. Today has been such a happy and amazing day!
