It's So Good To Be Home

We are at home and doing well. It is so nice to be together as a family. Matthew is able to take two weeks off to spend with me and the kids. We are so happy to have him here and he is enjoying his time at home too. I just thought that I would share some of the pictures that we have taken while we've been home. Easton is such a good baby and we enjoy him so much. He gave the girls a cute hopscotch to keep them busy while mom is taking care of him. They were excited and have had tons of fun playing with it.


Matthew was able to give Easton his first bath at home. He was back to work when the girls had their first baths, so this was a fun opportunity for us. I'd have to say that Math is a pro. Easton cried during his bath, but as soon as he was wrapped up and warm, he was happy. He is so cute!! I love the way that babies smell after they get bathed and lotioned. So sweet.



Sage and Sydnee have been so spoiled having Dad around. They wanted to do crafts one day, so he spent the morning making fun pictures with them. I had to capture the moment, because I think that Matthew is the greatest dad ever and I want my girls to see all of the neat things that he does with them. Math and Sydnee rode bikes to pick Sage up from school a few days. Matthew pulled Sage's bike along so that she could ride home with them. Sage thought that was so cool! He has taken them on all of his errands and tried to give me a little alone time. He even bought me a book to read while I have some time to do it. I have jumped on the bandwagon and I am reading "Twilight". It is so good, but I'll save those comments for another time. He has taken the girls to the park and out to do many other fun things. They have loved it. Easton is pretty spoiled too. We all love to hold, snuggle and kiss him. He doesn't go without too much attention. We are so blessed to be a family. Just another one of my side notes...check out Easton's shirt in the top picture of this group. He is wearing his first cowboy shirt! What a cute little cowboy!
I cannot believe how fast time flies. Easton turned 1 week old on Sunday. I just don't feel like he has already been in our family for a whole week. Pretty crazy stuff. I decided to get him all dressed up in his hunter camo and take some pictures. He is such a handsome boy! I also decided that we had better get a quick snapshot of our entire family. We haven't taken one yet, so today was just as good as any to do it. We are so blessed to have three sweet, healthy, special kids in our family. I cannot thank my Heavenly Father enough for these little miracles. Matthew and I love Sage, Sydnee and Easton so much. I hope that they will always know that.

Surprise!! 3 Weeks Early!

Easton Thayne has arrived and we are so excited!! We were definitely surprised when my water broke on Sunday, September 14th at 4:45 a.m. Matthew had told me a few times that I should probably pack the bag for the hospital and I had it on my to-do list, but obviously it didn't get done in time. Luckily we have some great friends in our ward, the Stephens family, who offered to be our "on call" people just in case we had our baby when my mom wasn't here to help. Matthew and I threw a bag together and gathered things that our kids would need for the day and we headed to drop our kids off at Aaron and Sarah's. When we got to the hospital we just followed all of the regular procedures and started the waiting game. There was no rush to get me going. I needed to get some antibiotics in me before the baby was born, because I was beta strep positive. Math and I decided to watch Ocean's 13 while we waited for our baby boy to arrive. It was nice to just relax together. When the time finally came for our baby to arrive, he was coming face up, so doctor Layton had to help out by spinning him around. I didn't know this until after he was born. When he was born the umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around his neck, but he was okay. He looked a little gray and was struggling to get moving, but they helped him to get moving and took really good care of him. Easton was born three weeks early and was still a big boy. He weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 20 1/2 in. long. I am glad that I didn't have to wait two more weeks to be induced, because he would have been a great big baby. That has been my fear! Our family is so excited to have Easton here and especially grateful that he is healthy and doing well. He is such a handsome little man and we love him so much! What a blessing it is to have him in our family. Just a side note for my own memory sake. When I looked at Easton's handsome face I could see bits and pieces of my girls, but yet he looked different too. I felt like I was looking into a familiar face though and it was really a sweet feeling. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father for sending this special little boy to be a part of our family.
Sage and Sydnee are so excited about "baby brother"!! They love Easton so much and can't get enough of him. They love to hold, snuggle, kiss and just look at him. They are both such great helpers. Sage and Sydnee are making life so easy by being such good girls. They will do anything if it means that they are helping out with the baby. Thanks girls for being such special big sisters!



I just want to say thanks to everyone who has helped us out in any way during this exciting time in our lives. We can't even begin to tell you how much it has meant to us. We have really had to depend on our friends because our families live so far away. My mom was all arranged to come just before I got induced, but with our early surprise, we have had to count on all of our good friends to help us. We truly appreciate each of you for your kindness even when we've called at the last minute. We have the greatest friends. Thanks!
To all of our family members - Thanks for the phone calls, love and concern that you have shown. We love and appreciate all of you. We are looking forward to visits from both of our grandma's over the next month. We can hardly wait to see you and share our sweet little Easton with you. See you soon!

Playgroup Tea Party

This past week Sydnee went to playgroup at Chloe Hildebrand's. Chloe's mom and grandma had a fun tea party for them. We were told to have Sydnee dress up and bring her favorite doll or stuffed animal. She picked out her dress the night before and decided to take her cute monkey with her. When I dropped her off, she was being so shy and silly along with the rest of the girls. They had tons of cute things for her to dress up with and she wouldn't put any of them on. After I left they talked all of the girls into putting on their hats, necklaces, sunglasses, boa's etc. They looked way too cute! They had so much fun eating heart shaped sandwiches, dancing, making a sunshine craft, decorating and eating cupcakes etc. Sydnee got to bring home all of her cute dress up's and a purse full of fun prizes.
