Who has the best dad?.....We do!!!

Math took the girls coyote hunting with him and our friend Aaron back in October and they had the time of their lives! They love to go hunting with their dad. Sage and Sydnee feel so special and feel like such big girls when they do fun things like this. Matthew is such a great dad and I love that he wants to take the girls out to do special things with him. He is such a loving, kind, and wonderful dad. Sage and Sydnee both got to shoot the .22 and they thought that it was so cool! They will never forget all of the many memories made with their dad.

In November Math had a scout campout that fell through, so he decided to take the girl's out camping because he was already packed up and ready to go. They were so excited and could hardly wait to get out of the house and head to the mountains. They helped set up the tent and get camp ready. They roasted hot dogs and marshmallows to eat. They sat by the campfire and saw the beautiful full moon. Sage had to call me on the phone to tell me about the full moon. It was so sweet. They went out hiking the next morning and had tons of fun with dad! They are so lucky to have a dad who loves them and spends quality time with them. I'm going to have to talk Matthew into journaling all of these special things that I'm not around for, because I'm sure that he would have fun stories to tell and could fill in all of the details that I miss. We'll see if I can get him to do that next time.

Matthew is always so good about helping out with dinner. One night he was making up scones and decided to cut them out with cookie cutters into fun shapes. Sage thought that it would be fun to help, so she jumped in and together they made an extra fun meal for all of us. Matthew is always making life happy around our house. If Sage looks a little sad in these pictures, it is because some hot grease splattered and burned her arm. Poor girl, that always hurts. Thanks Matthew for being the greatest dad ever! Our kids are so lucky to have you for their dad and I am lucky to have you too!

It's Field Trip Time

Sage's kindergarten class went on a field trip back in October, but I have been a slacker about getting the pictures off of the video camera. Matthew had the opportunity to go with her to a dairy farm and they had a great time! Sage was super excited about riding on a school bus and I think that she loved every minute of the farm too. Matthew had a great time watching her in her element and seeing what she is really like away from home. She was a good girl and made Math smile with her motherly ways. They got to pet animals, go through a hay maze, eat sack lunches, go on a hay ride and many other fun things. I am so glad that Math and Sage were able to spend some special time together.

Easton's Special Day

Today was a special day for our family. Easton Thayne Young was blessed on Sunday, November 9th, 2008. Easton was blessed by Matthew and we had some wonderful men stand in the circle with him. Grandpa DeMar, Houston Davis, Aaron Stephens, Doug Davis, Tom Eastmond and Bishop Wilcock were our family and friends that participated. Matthew did a wonderful job with the blessing. I am so grateful that Matthew holds the priesthood and was able to bless our sweet baby boy. It is such a blessing to have a worthy priesthood holder in our home. Easton was such an angel at church today. He was quiet and good through the blessing and the entire sacrament meeting.

Matthew and I are so glad that Easton was sent to be a part of our family. We love him so much! We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for sending us such a good and healthy boy. Our family would not be complete without him.

We were lucky to be able to have some family here to enjoy the day with us. Grandpa DeMar and Grandpa Patty Young were able to drive down on Saturday and stay for the blessing on Sunday. We enjoyed the time we had with them even though it was very short. It helped to have them here. It made things happier to have some family with us. We missed all of our other family members, but we know that they were thinking of Easton on his special day.

The Davis family came down from Payson, AZ to spend the day with us. They are such great friends and just like family to us. We appreciate them and all that they do for our family. We are lucky to have such wonderful friends. A few of our other friends and their families came by after church to spend some time with us. We enjoyed having them over. We are definitely blessed by our association with each and every one of them.

We had such a nice day today and I am grateful for Matthew, Sage, Sydnee and Easton. I love all of them so much. I am so glad that we are an eternal family. I couldn't imagine life without them. We are truly blessed.

Happy Halloween

Halloween has officially arrived and the kids could hardly wait to head out and get some more candy. We are already stocked up with goodies from the trunk-or-treat, but we can't pass up the fun of knocking on doors in our neighborhood. We had a great time and the weather was wonderful! It is fun to have nice weather in Arizona, because a lot of people just sit out in their driveways to pass out candy. We were able to see our friends in the neighborhood and chit chat along the way. We ended up getting invited in to have some chili with some friends from our ward, the Wolfs. They were having a party and a contest to see who made the best chili. All three were fabulous! After we finished trick-or-treating we sat in the Eagar's driveway and passed out our candy. We had a lot of fun hanging out with the Eagars. They are such great friends. Well, the kids ate too much candy and we were all worn out, so we headed off to bed, but we had a great time spending Halloween as a family!
